Betty Jo Brents, 80, of Amarillo died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with Jody Meason officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. was born June 3, 1927, in Alanreed to William Hartley and Mary Berthenia Terbush Davis. She married Forrest Franklin Brents on Sept. 25, 1947. She worked at Southwestern Bell for 10 years as a trainer. She was a homemaker until her husband retired and her children were grown. She then worked at Cloth World until her retirement.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Holly Mitchell and the staff in the CCU ward at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital for all their care.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sharon Gail Brents; and two sisters, Velma Hechler and Willie Marie May.

Survivors include five daughters, Phyllis Brooks, Patti Martin-Fielding, Paula Saunders and Nancy Baker, all of Amarillo, and Leisa Brents of Houston; a brother, John Davis of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Katie Hughes, Lexie Baker, Jackie Saunders, Dani Baker and Laura Saunders; and two great-grandchildren, Tannah Martin and Brayden Gann.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Heart Association, 6605 W. Interstate 40, Suite A-6, Amarillo, TX 79106.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Betty married Forrest Franklin BRENTS, son of Jeff Otto BRENTS and Gracie Viola "Ola" SWEET, on 25 Sep 1948. (Forrest Franklin BRENTS was born on 9 Oct 1923 in Texas and died on 27 Nov 1992 in Stigler, Haskell County, Oklahoma.)
